Welcome to Pagan (Bagan)!

Pagan

Pagan is one of the richest archaelogical  apprance in South-east Asia. and still contains over 2000 edifices, pagodas and temples which are representing the rich cultural heritage of the 11th - 13th century. Located on the left bank of the Ayeyawaddy River and 90 miles(145 km) far from southwest of Mandalay. It was the capital of the first Myanmar empire, at one time there were 13,000 temples, pagodas and religious structures.  and nowaday, only over 2,300 remain. Established in AD 849 and , from the 11th century to the end of the 13th century,  was the capital of  a region roughly the size of modern Myanmar.
Shwezigone is a huge pogada and also one of the tooth relic pagoda. It was built by King Anawrahta who was the founder of Myanmar Empire, and finished by King Kyansittha in 1084. . The stupa's graceful bell shape became a prototype for later Myanmar pogodas. There are green  and it is famous for its huge golden umbrella final with jewels.
Anada
Ananda temple is probably the finest largest and best preserved and most revered of  all Bagan temples. It was built in AD 1105 by King Kyanzittha, is said to represent the endless wisdom of the Buddha. 
Thatbyinnyu temple is the heighest temple in Bagan, height is 200 feet (61m) and was built by Alaungsithu. There are stone supports which held the temple's huge bronze bell at southwest of the temple. A small Tally pagod which was built of one brick per 10,000 bricks used in the main temple , is standed at northwest of temple.
Sarahha Gate
Sarabha Gateway -The ruins of the main gate on the east wall are all that remain of the old 9th century
city. The gate is guarded by brother and sister angels, finding brother in the left, and the sister in the right. Traces of old stucco can still be seen on the gateway. 
Around Pagan
Mouth Popa is known as like Mount Olympus of Asia because people believe that it is the home of many many spiritual beings. Located at  29 miles (km)  south-east of Bagan. There occasionally are spiritual festivals held at Mount Popa.
